Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Allegrini 2019

If you are looking for an Italian wine brand that has centuries of history, culture and tradition attached to it, look no further than Allegrini Wines. The Allegrini Family’s history can be traced back to as early as the 16th century when the first generation of the family planted vines in the areas of Fumane and Valpolicella in Italy. Today, they are the most reputed and recognised wine families in the Italian countryside.

The aroma is a mix of red and black cherries, spices, and hints of vanilla. On the palate, it has a full-body, with flavors that include blackberry, plum, and dark chocolate. The tannins are smooth and well integrated, and the finish is long and persistent. This is an excellent example of a classic Italian Amarone and pairs well with red meat, game, and aged cheese.

A classic expression of the appellation, with intense aromas of ripe, dark fruit and spice, it has a powerful structure and depth, superb balance with refined tannins and a long, spiced finish.

Currently, the family’s cultivation and harvest process are done on six sprawling vineyards spread across Italy. They are Palazzo Della Torre, La Grola, La Poja, Villa Cavarena, Fieramonte and Monte Dei Galli. The Palazzo Della Torre comprises of 26 hectares of fertile land and is famous for the Corvina, Sangiovese and Rondinella grape cultivations. Located at the foothills of Fumane, this vineyard contains limestone-rich soil that ensures that the fruits grown here are sugary and full-bodied.

Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is an Italian wine made from dried grapes that has a rich and intense flavor profile. This wine is created using a traditional method where grapes are dried for four months, increasing their sugar content and giving the wine a distinct character.
