Domaine de la Chevalerie ‘Franco de Porc’ Bourgueil 2018
A dark ruby in colour, this is a lively and aromatic Loire Cabernet Franc with aromas of blackcurrant leaf and bramble. The palate is packed with juicy dark fruit flavours with hints of wild cherry and sweet red pepper.
Description
Domaine de la Chevalerie is owned and run by Danielle and Pierre Caslot. The 33-hectare organic estate has been in the Caslot family since 1640 and an excellent range of reds are produced from their cellar in the village of Restigne. The wines are made only from the Cabernet Franc grape, producing fresh yet intense reds that are a delight to drink. ‘Franco de Porc’ is 100% Cabernet Franc harvested from 25 year old vines and undergoes ageing in old oak barrels for up to 12 months before bottling.
