This classic white Burgundy is perfectly balanced, with great character and complexity. A real crowd-pleaser; rich and smooth with notes of lemon zest, pineapple and flaked almonds.

The Chêne family has been growing grapes in the heart of Mâcon for five generations. Owning vineyards in the top two locations in the Maconnais, La Roche Vineuse and St Veran, this excellent domaine has a lot to offer. Located in the heart of Macon, Domaine Chêne has continued to grow since it was established in 1973. This excellent domaine has a lot to offer, winemakers Cedric and Nadine are dedicated supporters of the ‘lutte raisonnee’ system meaning minimum intervention, and keep yields low, which up the quality no end. Since taking the helm in 1973, Cedric has focused on improving the farming practices of the domaine, with constant ploughing of the vines and decreased yields during harvest. He maintains a very hands off approach in the cellar, using only indigenous yeasts for fermentation and stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness. The 30 hectare estate uses modern equipment and sources all its vines from its nursery. The results are stunning wines that are laser-focussed expressions of high altitude Chardonnay. They have attracted their fair share of media attention (Decanter, Revue des vins de France and more…) and won several medals.
